There are people who rise above themselves for something new and this applies to the people behind ÔMINA ROMANA. They not only embody a passion for wine, but also the desire to create something stylish. Dr. Maria Teresa Börner gave up her profession as a historian and completed an enology degree at the Geisenheim Research Center in Rheingau. She’s assisted in Velletri by internationally renowned enologist Claudio Gori, who provides consulting services, and agronomist Paula Pacheco, who helps with the work in the vineyard and olive grove. With a permanent team of highly motivated employees, all of whom come from the region, the company pursues its vision of sustainable cultivation and traditional wine culture.

Our employees in the vineyard and on the estate
are invested in every grape.

We have made a conscious decision to avoid mass production.
our wine is produced meticulously by hand and
our employees live this manufacturing approach every day.

Every employee is familiar with the region, feels bound to it, and knows how to interpret wind, weather, and grapevines. During the harvesting phase, personal experience is key to fulfilling the individual quality standards of our wines. Low-quality grapes are immediately separated out in the vineyard. A second inspection follows on the conveyor belt, where mediocre fruit is again discarded. Maria Teresa Börner and her tight-knit team not only share the endurance to work meticulously, but also the satisfaction they feel with their unique wine.

our vineyard springs forth from
the volcanic soil of the Alban Hills –
the resurrection of the latin wine
in a whole new dimension.
